Abstract
By means of finite element numerical simulation, the effect of different brazing fillers on the shear stress in brazing fillet was investigated. The results show that no matter what brazing filler is used among Ni-based, Ti-based and Ag-based brazing fillers, the shear stress always concentrates on tip of TiC ceramic/cast iron interface of brazing fillet. When Ni-based and Ag-based brazing filler are used, the maximum value of shear stress occurs on brazing filler/TiC ceramic interface. When Ti-based brazing filler is used, the maximum value of shear stress occurs on iron/brazing filler interface. The quality of the joint brazing filler with Ag-based brazing filler is best because of its low shear stress value.
