abstract = "The present paper studies the propagation behavior of shear wave through piezo-electro-magnetic material (PEMM) due to the impact of an impulsive point source at the lower boundary of PEMM. The PEMM lies between an isotropic viscoelastic layer and an isotropic heterogeneous half-space. Green{\textquoteright}s function technique along with Fourier{\textquoteright}s transformation has been employed to obtain the dispersion equation. For some particular cases, dispersion equation has been obtained and is validated and matched with pre-established standard results. The effects of viscoelasticity and functional gradient parameters on the phase velocity of propagating wave are shown graphically through numerical computations.",
