Dynamics simulation of deployment of solar panels in different layouts based on ADAMS

Abstract

The dynamics virtual prototype model of deployment of solar panels was built on ADAMS. Three typical layouts for solar panel of spacecraft were analyzed: the first layout is the panels on one side of spacecraft deployed synchronously; the second layout is the panels on two sides of spacecraft deployed synchronously; the third layout is the panels on four sides of spacecraft deployed synchronously. The dynamics simulation of deployment of solar panels was made and the results were compared. The simulation results can predict the deployment dynamics characters of solar panels and the effects of deployment of solar panels on satellite attitude motion preferably in three typical layouts. It has some reference meaning to the layout of solar panels on spacecraft and it is propitious to select scheme at beginning. And it can be reference for engineering design of spacecraft control system and ground text.
