Abstract

The dynamic buckling of hull plates and stiffened plates under in-plane impact load was analyzed by the finite element method. The impact load was reasonably simplified and the correctness of the finite element analysis results was verified. For the hull plate, the influence of the load form, the load period, the initial deflection and the plate slenderness on the dynamic buckling was analyzed. For the stiffened plate, the influence of the load period, the plate slenderness, the stiffener slenderness and the initial deflection on the dynamic buckling was analyzed. The calculation formulae for the critical dynamic buckling load of the hull plates and stiffened plates were also obtained by the data of the finite element analyses. The proposed calculation formulae of critical dynamic buckling load of hull structure can be applied in the safe assessment of hull structure in Engineering.
