Abstract
The unsymmetrical model of generator-bearing system is presented in the rotating co-ordinate and transfer matrices of elements are derived from motion equations of elements using the harmonic balancing method. Due to the calculating instability of the transfer matrix method, Riccati change is introduced to the derivation of transfer matrices, and applied to the dynamic calculation of complex generator-bearing system. As an example, this method is employed to the dynamic calculation of a 650 MW nuclear power generator-bearing system, and the results of calculation and practical experiment are almost the same. It is proved that this method is more accurate and valid for dynamic calculation such as critical speed, unbalance response and instability of complex generator-bearing system.
