Durability of high damping concretes and the comprehensive evaluation

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

The loss tangent and storage modulus of cement mortars may be improved by adding some admixtures (including styrene-acrylic, polyvinyl acetate, methylcellulose, Latex and silica fume), but the influence of these admixtures on long-term properties of concrete is worthwhile to be studied. Four effect factors (mass loss, frost-resistant coefficient, passed electric quantity and infiltrating water depth), which reflect frost-resistant ability, chloride ion penetration-resistant ability and water-resistant ability, are introduced, and the durable ability of high damping concrete is evaluated by the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation on the foundation of experiments. The results provide a new probe for evaluating comprehensively the durable property of concretes.
