Abstract

In this paper, a novel broadband square slot antenna was promoted, which can realize dual circular polarization by embedding in the square slot two nearly mirror-symmetric L-shape strips. Also, we add a reflector on the backside of the antenna in order to reflect electromagnetic waves to achieve high gain. Moreover, stubs are supplemented to the L-shape strip to broaden the axial ratio (AR) bandwidth. The optimized coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure improves impedance bandwidth of the antenna, ranging from 2.0 GHz to 2.2 GHz. The dimension of the proposed antenna is 62.8×72.8mm2.
