Distribution of polycyclic musks in sediments from the songhua river

Abstract

Occurrence and distribution of four polycyclic musks in nine sediment samples from the Songhua River were studied by using GC-MS. The concentrations of total polycyclic musks were in the range of 2.91-27.8 ng/g (dry weight, dw), while HHCB, AHTN, ADBI and AHMI were in th ranges of 1.89-16.00, 1.02-6.06, <LOD-2.72 and <LOD-3.02 ng/g (dry weight, dw), respectively. The results indicated that the Songhua River had been polluted with different degree except the river source, and the HHCB and AHTN were the dominant components in the sediments.
