Abstract

The digital quadrature processor based on polyphase filters, enalbes inphase (I) and quadrature (Q) components to be directly produced from a bandpass signal in intermediate frequency (IF) without a numerical controlled oscillator (NCO) and this eliminates the NCO by selecting the even samples and the odd samples respectively multiplied by sequence of (1, -1, 1, -1, ...) as I and Q samples. Two filters are used to match the synchronization of I and Q components, which are branching filters of the interpolation polyphase filters. With the parallel structure of polyphase filter, the orders of the following filters are reduced and a lower sampling frequency is achieved by decimation. The simulation result obtained with the digital quadrature processor based on the polyphase filters is given in this paper, too.
