Abstract

An electric city bus with ultra-capacitors as sole energy storage is developed. With integrated design of electric machine and drives, ultra-capacitors energy management, vehicle management unit and other electric system, the bus covers range of 20km under city drive cycle after full charge less than 15 minutes. The city bus is fit for public transportation with charging station at terminal especially in northern area with long winter.
