Abstract
In order to simulate the complex high-rise building, the explicit user-defined dynamic material subroutine (VUMAT) based on ABAQUS was studied in this paper. Formulas of one-parameter concrete elastic-plastic model were used for explicit dynamics analysis, which was proved to be correct through a beam element analysis. Finally, a practical engineering example was considered, and numerical simulation results and experimental results were compared. The numerical analysis can predict the yielding mechanism, weak locations and damage patterns for this high-rise structure under strong earthquake excitations.
