Abstract

The paper establishes the finite element analytical model of eddy current used in the metallic conduit. It analyzes the current and electromagnetic force distribution in the eddy current loading in the conduit. It compares the electromagnetic loading effect from the change of the shape and size of the exciting coil and the exciting current parameters. The eddy current loading coil used in the metallic conduit is designed. The research supplies the theoretical basis for the electromagnetically induced acoustic emission (EMAE) used to the pipeline inspection.
