Abstract

To meet the need of on-board computer-in-the-loop simulation, real-time simulation system for attitude and orbit control of a flexible satellite is designed based on dSPACE multiprocessor system. The software and hardware architectures of this system are presented. With the serial communication between on-board computer and the inertial reference units as an example, the modeling approach of serial communication using RTI, Simulink and Stateflow is particularly addressed. The real-time simulation of the attitude and orbit control system in autonomous mode is completed on dSPACE system. The simulation results show the effectiveness of this real-time simulation system and the modeling approach of serial communication. It is valuable for the practical applications of dSPACE real-time simulation systems in the aerospace engineering.
