Design of PMSM system based on anti-windup controller

Abstract

When classical PID controllers were used in permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) vector control system, the integrate windup phenomenon was analyzed, which was caused by the presence of saturation nonlinearity. Then several typical and applied anti-windup controllers were introduced. Based on variable-structure anti-windup PID controller, the system was improved to suppress the relevant windup phenomenon. The controller is based on the combined use of conditional integration and back-calculation anti-windup techniques. The control strategy can make the system leaving saturation area as soon as possible. The simulation results show that the anti-windup controller has the nice effect in restraining saturation. The designed system makes the PMSM system less overshoot, more quickly dynamic response, good robustness and high steady-state performance.
