Abstract

In order to predict performance and bending ability of the shape memory alloy (SMA) hybrid composites (SMAHC), a systemic design method, which gives consideration to conventional performance and unique ability of large range initiative deformation, has been brought forward. When the main design parameter has been changed with the SMA volume fraction and the SMA wire, ribbon and plate have been embedded, the performance of SMAHC changes. Having been processed by some especial method, the SMA plate increases the volume fraction and resistance of SMA. So, respond speed of SMA has been increased. Finite element method has been used in the design and analysis and this design method has been validated.
