Abstract
The increasing interest in large-scale antennas has heightened the need for a deployable antenna mechanism with a high folding ratio and stiffness for SAR (synthetic aperture radar) antennas. This paper designed and studied a new type of planar antenna support mechanism. First, this article completed the design of the new antenna mechanism. In contrast, this mechanism has the advantages of good geometric stability and modular expansion. Then, an equivalent model was established to verify the working performance of the mechanism. According to the mechanism design plan of Section 2, this article completes the design and optimization of mechanism parameters, which contain strut section parameters and height parameters. Finally, a scaled-down prototype has been developed, which was used to test deployment performance.
