Design and implementation of radar target simulator based on FPGA

Abstract

In this paper, a new type of IF target simulator that is suitable for microwave radar system test is discussed. It simulates the target's velocity by changing the carrier frequency of the signal generator and distance by programming the delay of radar video pulse. Because of adopting FPGA, the simulator has the feature of high stability, high precision, easy operation, and broad application.
