abstract = "In this paper, an ultra-wideband (UWB) ridged TEM horn antenna is designed to detect the short electromagnetic pulse (EMP) emitted by partial discharge (PD) at a long distance. The antenna is simulated using CST MWS, and the frequency stability of its phase center is optimized. Finally, a ridged horn antenna that can receive nanosecond EMP signals with low distortion has been fabricated. Simulated and measured results show that the antenna has the characteristics of high gain (above 17 dBi), wide band (1-18 GHz) and stable phase center, which can be used for PD detection.",
