Abstract
A new design of a reservation-based medium access protocol, dynamic frame packet reservation multiple access (DF-PRMA), is presented for wireless ATM environments with mathematic model. The analysis of such performance as delay and channel throughput with its adaptability to the fluctuation of traffic by controlling frame length dynamically is given and the delay performance is guaranteed by forced collision and special reservation slot, thereby providing a limited access delay and QoS level and maintaining a reasonable high channel throughput.
