Abstract
A bidirectional crosslinking transverse flux flat type permanent magnet linear synchronous motor is presented, which has larger space utilization ratio than traditional transverse flux machine, with the features of fully utilizing secondary permanent magnets and increasing the no-load back-EMF. The structure and principle of this machine is introduced, and the electromagnetic design method is presented in this paper. In additional, the structure of the motor size is optimized by 3-D finite element method. A prototype is designed and manufactured. The no-load back-EMF and static thrust experiments are carried out. The theoretical analyses agree with the experiment results well. That verifies the validity of the theoretical analysis as well as the rationality of motor design.
