Abstract
The cross-coupled {d-} and q-axis current response can deteriorate the current control characteristic especially under high-velocity and high-dynamics operation in air-bearing permanent magnet linear synchronous machine (PMLSM) with traditional field-oriented control. This paper addresses the coupled {d-} and q-axis current response with proportional-integral (PI) controller based on the mathematical model including parameter uncertainties and unmodeled dynamics, and then the principle and comparative decoupled capability utilizing voltage feedforward decoupling control (VFDC) and internal model control (IMC) are given. Considering the decoupling performance deterioration due to the parameters mismatch, a simple variable-gain adaptation law based on the Lyapunov function is presented to improve the parameter robustness. Experimental results are given to demonstrate its effectiveness for decoupled {d-} and q-axis current control.
