Abstract

The current source Inverter (CSI) permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system is easy to cause the resonant instability of current loop due to the inherent resonant peak. Moreover, the attached CL filter increases the system order, resulting in the complex structure and inconvenient parameter tuning. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a deadbeat predictive current control (DPCC) strategy based on virtual resistor active damping. Firstly, by performing the second-order Taylor expansion on the state space equation of the system, a simple-structured deadbeat predictive current controller was designed. It reduces the number of prediction steps through higher-order expansion. Secondly, in order to better suppress the inherent resonance of the system, an active damping control strategy based on the parallel connection of filter capacitors and virtual resistors is further proposed. Finally, the closed-loop stability analysis of the system and the parameter design criteria were presented, and the effectiveness of the proposed control method was verified through experiments.
