Abstract

This paper proposes an inverter offline self-commissioning method for the stator resistance identification of induction motor (IM) drive system. Different types of DC current are injected to eliminate the inverter nonlinearity error and detect the stator resistances. In comparison to the conventional method of using numerical analysis tools, the studied method shows superiority both in accuracy and simplicity. The experimental results on a commercial IM drive system verify the effectiveness of studied method.
