Abstract

Two cationic photoinitiators are successfully synthesized, which are S,S-dialkyl-S-(3,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) sulfonium(4HPS) and S,S-dialkyl-S-(3,5-dimethyl-2-hydroxy-phenyl) sulfonium(2HPS). The FT-IR, H-NMR and elemental analysis have been used for the structural characterizations. The cure behavior of photoinitiator/ZH92-21 is investigated through FT-IR combined with a high pressure mercury lamp. The result shows that the polymerization rate increases with increase of the photoinitiators concentration. This is consistent with the kinetic equation. The cure rate of 2HPS/ZH92-21 is faster than 4HPS/ZH92-21. 2-isopropylthioxanthone can be used as photosensitizer to HPS photoinitiator/ZH92-21.
