Abstract

Thermosetting phenolic resin modified by polyathylene-vinyl alcohol which can dissolve in phenol water was prepared. Its cured character and microscopic configuration were researched with IR, DSC, TG, SEM and TEM spectra. During curing process, hydroxy group of polyathylene-vinyl alcohol was condensed with hydroxy method of phenolic resin into intersectional structure, which was good for heat resistance and toughness. The analysis conclusion of SEM and TEM spectra were correspondent with that of IR, DSC, TG spectra analysis.
