Abstract

An analysis of the cure kinetics of a modified bismaleimide (BMI) system was performed. The system used in this study was the 4,4′- bismaleimidodiphenylmethane(BMlM) and 0,0′-diallyl bisphenol A (DABPA, DABA). A series of isothermal DSC runs provided information about the kinetics of cure in the limited temperatures. All kinetic parameters of the BMI system were calculated. Regardless of the different temperatures, the shape of the conversion curves was similar, and this modified BMI system underwent an nth-order cure reaction. From the experimental data, it was found that the first order kinetic expression correctly represented to analyze the cure kinetics of this system.
