Abstract

Generally, industry equipment is composed of several subsystems, and criticality of each subsystem in the equipment is different so that assigning the reliability in design phase, confirming the detection level in running phase and selecting the maintenance policy for each subsystem should be based on its criticality. The improved TOPSIS, which makes the TOPSIS better to satisfy the requirement of practical engineering, was employed to evaluate the criticality on the basis of assignment of the weights of each attribute by using the information-entropy method. It is shown by the instance of criticality analysis of plastic extruder that the proposed method is effective for evaluating the equipment criticality.
