Abstract

To intercept targets with superior maneuverability, differential game theory is combined with the acceleration coverage strategy. By embedding the coverage strategy into the performance index, the cooperative interception problem is formulated as a finite-time tracking problem within a nonlinear differential game framework. An approximate closed-form guidance law is obtained using the finite-time state-dependent Riccati equation method, which yields computational efficiency. Due to the differential game formulation, the target acceleration information is not required, which makes the proposed guidance law more robust than existing coverage-based cooperative guidance laws. Furthermore, the local asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system and the suboptimality of the guidance law are proved. The effectiveness and robustness of the proposed guidance law is demonstrated by numerical simulations.
