Abstract
Both the principle and the experimental setup for measuring the velocity of moving targets by using the CW CO2 coherent laser radar were described with the experimental results presented. The results show that the measurement precision of velocity is of 0.28m/s, and the velocity resolution is of 0.05 m/s. The outdoor experimental results show that the working range of the laser radar can reach 200m when the target is a diffuser.
