Corrigendum to “A critical review on graphene oxide membrane for industrial wastewater treatment” [Environ. Res. 223 (2023) 115409] (Environmental Research (2023) 223, (S0013935123002013), (10.1016/j.envres.2023.115409))

This paper is co-authored by Aijie Wang, who is a co-Editor-in-Chief of Environmental Research. Environmental Research would like to clarify through this Corrigendum that it is the policy of the journal and Elsevier that editors must not be involved in decisions about papers which they have written themselves; that any such submission must be subject to the journal's usual procedures; peer review must be handled independently of the relevant author/editor and their research groups; and there should be a clear statement to this effect on any such paper that is published. An audit has been conducted which shows that this paper, submitted by Jing-Long Han and colleagues was handled appropriately and was subject to several rounds of independent peer review which were supervised by another of the journal's Associate Editors, Baoxia Mi. Unfortunately, an administrative oversight in the publishing process meant that a statement to this effect was not published as a footnote to the article. We apologise for this oversight. A review/audit of the journal's workflows has been similarly completed to ensure journal editors are appropriately removed from the handling process on manuscripts in which they are a named co-author.
