Correlative problems in design of plate-column structures

Abstract

Because of well-known excellent superiorities, plate-column structures have been widely used day by day since it appeared. However, its seismic behavior has always been one of concerned problems. Concept and state of the art of design methods of plate-column structure and plate-column and shearwall structure are briefly introduced. Seismic behaviors of plate-column structure are evaluated from some aspects including top drift of structure subjected to wind load and frequently occured earthquake, result of pushover analysis, seismic behavior of joint and analysis of structure modes. And seismic behavior of plate-column and shearwall structure is preliminarily discussed.
