Cooling structure design for turbine blades I: Parameterized design

Abstract

A systematic method for blade cooling structure design, based on parameterized design method for blade cooling structure, traditional pipe-net calculation method and newly-emerging conjugated heat transfer analysis technology, is introduced. Parameterized design method ensures quick and accurate cooling structure designing. Pipe-net calculation helps schematic design and conjugated heat transfer analysis instructs detailed design. In parameterized design, coolant passage can be designed easily with the help of "Element Designing" method. By using automatic pipe-net model generation program and quick building method for CFD domain model, pipe-net model or accurate CFD domain model for the following heat transfer analysis can be obtained in quickly.
