Abstract

A control strategy is proposed for the four-phase fault-tolerant permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). Fault conditions, including one-phase open circuit, two-phase open circuit and one-phase short circuit, are analyzed and simulated by co-simulation of MATLAB and Flux. Two different fault-tolerant control strategies are analyzed and compared. The machine performances under one-phase short-circuit condition is also investigated.
