Abstract
The welded residual compression stress which is larger than the compression residual stress can cause buckling distortion of TC4 thin plate in normal welding process. In order to decrease the buckling distortion, the method of impact revolution pressing during welding was utilized to gain plastic extension in the certain temperature zone of the welding bead. The residual stress can be reduced by compensating the plastic shrinkage in the zone. The experiment results show that the deflection can be decreased to one eighth of the original deflection by impact revolution pressing. Higher input voltage, more the deflection can be reduced. The method of impact revolution pressing in welding process is feasible to control the deflection of TC4 thin plate weldment.
