title = "Conclusion: The First Step in a Long Journey",
abstract = "This book has evaluated and corroborated the theoretical groundwork of combining the historico-geographical and configurational approaches through empirical studies of Ludlow (UK), Chinatown (Singapore) and Nanjing (China). It has explored how this framework could provide reference for urban planners and designers to manage change in historical urban landscape. It is just a first step in a long journey towards combining and coordinating different morphological approaches to enhance the understanding, explanation and prescription of urban form. More rigorous and more empirical-based studies could be carried out to verify and enrich this analytical framework in the future.",
