Concentration ration and structural embeddedness of equipment manufacturing industry in heavy industrial district: Case of Heilongjiang, China

Abstract

Industrial clusters are usually referred to as spatially concentrated networks of small and medium sized firms. Rich literature concerning these industrial clusters has focused on high-tech industry and labor-intensive firms. In this paper we attempt to identify concentration ration and structural embeddedness of equipment manufacturing industry in Heilongjiang province by use the existing conceptual frameworks and related theories. This paper researches the cluster's concentration ration and concentrated networks then puts forward some suggestions as to how to overcome these problems and to carry out the proposed strategy.
