Abstract
The solar concentrating system composed of compound parabolic concentrator (CPC) will be a tendency for space sun-generated electric power in future. The reasonable truncation was obtained for CPC with plain absorber. Based on the characteristic of orbit, the path of light transport for CPC was simulated by Monte Carlo Method. The space CPC with intermittent tracking may low the difficulty of anti-solar orientated, and the control formula of intermittent tracking was dominated. Taking some CPC with plain absorber on sun-synchronous orbit for example, the concentrating characteristic of solar array depending on intermittent tracking was expounded. Finally, the loss of light in two dimensional CPC was analyzed and an improved scheme was presented, which has an ideal concentrating performance.
