Abstract

This paper deals with the problem of the optimized stirrer design for a reverberation chamber which is becoming popular tool within the EMC and related areas. A new and a conventional stirrers are designed and made for a reverberation chamber of dimensions of 5.8m × 3.6m × 3.4m. Comparisons for these two designs are made in terms of the field uniformity and lowest usable frequency (LUF). It is apparent from the results that the new design gives much better performance for the same chamber, which is another step towards the optimization of stirrer design of a reverberation chamber.
