Abstract
This paper is the continuation of our investigation of ray-based Kirchhoff migration. Previously, we have introduce a geometrical approach for calculating ray amplitudes during wavefront construction ray tracing. We have demonstrated (Fehler et al., 2002; Alde et al., 2002) the reliability of this method to calculate wavefronts, amplitudes, and phases using comparisions with full wavefield finite-difference calculations. In this paper we qualitatively investigate the dependence of the image quality as a function of the number and type of arrivals used in the image and the inclusion of amplitudes and phases in the image.
