Abstract

In the user-congested high frequency (HF) band, the HF surface wave radar can't work in gear due to the influence of radio interference. To cancel such interference, the spatial adaptive beamforming and sidelobe cancellation based on the horizontal auxiliary antennas are used in this paper. By comparing the interference cancellation performance of the methods based on the different auxiliary antennas and different processing order, the experiment results show that the sidelobe cancellation based on the horizontal auxiliary antennas can successfully reject the mainlobe interference without losing the target response, and the range domain sidelobe cancellation method exhibits the best performance of interference cancellation.
