Abstract

Experiments were conducted to compare the effects of removals of algae and odor from surface water by coagulation, and enhanced coagulation of potassium permanganate and potassium permanganate composite chemicals. Experimental results show that the conventional coagulation process can remove algae little, but cannot remove odor derived from algae, enhanced coagulation of potassium permanganate can improve the algae and odor removal rate to some degree, and enhanced coagulation of potassium permanganate composite can chemicals increases that greatly, and it is the most efficient process in removing algae, odor and organic matter derived from algae in surface water.
