Abstract

In this study, the performance of tracking and data relay satellite (TDRS) communication system multiple access (MA) service is analyzed. Firstly, in order to eliminate multiple access interference, a multiuser detector based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) and artificial fish swarm algorithm (AFSA) is explored. The result of MMSE and its modified formations are used as the initial values of artificial fishes to accelerate the speed of global convergence. Subsequently, coding technique is utilized to achieve reliable communication at low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). In the proposed concatenated coding scheme, convolutional codes and Reed-Solomon (RS) codes are employed as the inner code and outer code, respectively. Simulation results demonstrate good performance of the proposed method.
