Abstract

The linear electrostatic problem for a piezoelectric ceramic with a surface electrode was investigated theoretically. Numerical solution to the problem of an electrode on a piezoelectric medium of finite thickness was established. Linear dependencies of the normalized electric displacement intensity factors on layer thickness were obtained for four kinds of piezoelectric material considered. The analysis shows that the stresses and electric field intensities decrease with the electrode diameter, but increase with the thickness of the piezoelectric layer.
