China's future activity in space debris protection

Abstract

Space debris poses increasing threats to the orbiting spacecraft. Space debris projects has been funding systemically for a number of years in China and some developments have been achieved in the past five years in the space debris protection field. The main development objective of space debris protection in the next five years is analyzed here and the future activities are presented, which refer to in-situ monitoring technologies, protection design research and laboratory facility construction.
