Abstract

In this paper, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) techniques was used to give a research on the characteristics of wind pressures on cantilevered grandstand roofs. Selected geometric parameters of the model were varied during the computation in an attempt to quantify the variation in roof wind loading for various configurations of grandstands and stadiums. Base on these analyses, design recommendations are presented for roofs that do not have a significant dynamic response and design values for downward wind loads for cantilever roofs are also presented.
