Abstract

A comprehensive analysis of decoupling capacitors in MIMO antennas is investigated using characteristic mode analysis (CMA) so that a two-port MIMO antenna system in a shared half-wavelength dipole is designed. It is revealed that a high-order mode with an anti-phase current distribution to the original mode is introduced, contributing to the current cancellation effect and decoupling effect.
