Abstract
We propose a passive calibration method for gain-phase errors of HFSWR by using the sea clutters as candidate calibration sources. We regard the sea clutters as interesting signals and introduce an extraction method which can be divided into two steps. The first step is to extract the first-order sea clutter spectrum based on the signal-to-noise ratio, and the second step is to extract the single-source spectrum points in the first-order sea clutter spectrum. Based on the single-source sea clutter points, we estimate the value of the gain-phase errors by the iterative calibration method. Experimental results demonstrate the correctness of our proposed method: the DOA estimation result after calibration is closer to the azimuth of the real target, and the amplitude of the spatial spectrum is also higher.
