Abstract
The calculating method of the initial rotational stiffness for the partial depth endplates connection, which was usually used as beam-column composite joint in the steel structural frame, was not prescribed definitely in Eurocode 4. The calculating method of the initial rotational stiffness for such composite joints, which considered the influence of tensile bolts and concrete, was build up based on the finite element analysis by software ANSYS. The results calculated by the new method agreed well with the corresponding results calculated by the finite-element analysis.
