Abstract
Prediction of temperature is a very important step in steel and concrete fire engineering and design. Two different methods are used, one is a simple numerical calculation method by solving the Fourier Transfer Equation. Its application area is rectangular RC section and its advantage is rapid and simple. Another is a nonlinear FE method by solving the heat transfer equations and considering the thermal properties dependent on temperature, convection and radiation. Its application areas are steel, concrete and composite members, all kinds of boundary conditions. Its advantage is high accurate result.
