Calculation of Cooling Rates of Rapidly-Solidified TiAl Alloy

Abstract

The cooling rates of rapidly-solidified TiAl alloy prepared by solidification process, e. g. Plasma Rotation Electrode Process(PREP) and Harmmer and Anvil Spall Quenching Process (HAP) have been calculated by means modes of heat transfer and physics in the present paper. The results show that: cooling rate of PREP is in the scope of 102K/s∼104K/s,and that of HAP is in 105K/s∼106K/s.
